Miracles
There is a well-known (in some spiritual circles) book called A Course in Miracles. I had heard about it from friends and colleagues for many years, how they were studying it and the insights gained from it.
I never felt interested in reading it. Until recently.
That sounds dramatic but isn't actually.
I just found myself picking it up the other day. Noticing that I wanted to read it when I hadn't wanted to before.
How this book came into being is interesting.
Two research psychologists working and teaching together in the late 1960's expressed that "there must be a better way". A better way to live, a better way for humans to relate to one another, a better way. The result was A Course in Miracles.

The famous opening lines of A Course in Miracles state: "This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary". Published in 1976 and scribed by Dr Helen Schucman, it is a self-study spiritual curriculum designed to remove blocks to our awareness of love's presence.
Love is the default.
My take on the bit I have read so far.
The introduction:
"Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists."
The Takeaway: Realizing this truth brings the peace of God. The course does not try to teach what love is, because love goes beyond all teaching. It only helps you let go of the fear that blocks love.
This reminds me of one of the questions I hear most often from clients:
If love is the default or the only thing that is "real", then how come so many people (or how come I) don't feel that way?
Fear. And your focus.
If you focus on seeing love (in all its forms), you will. If you focus on urgency, stress, pressure, fear or anything else, you will get more of that. Simple.
It also reminds me of what predictably happens when clients start to shift their focus to love (or presence) more of the time. They start to get miracles showing up in their lives.
They start to see that the foundation of life is love. They start to experience a life of love and miracles.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
